A one-day celebration of the Celtic music, dance, craft, and art that has found a home in
the state of Maine!
Artists & Musicians
We are committed to representing authentic folk traditions in an inclusive and balanced lineup. You won’t find any Celtic Rock at the Little Sea Folk Festival, but you will hear and play the very best of authentic Irish, Scottish, Quebecois, Cape Breton, Americana, Bluegrass, and Acoustic Folk - just to name a few! You’ll also join in dance classes, language lessons, craft workshops, sport demonstrations, theatrical performances, song circles, open sessions, and so much more. We hope you’ll join us for Portland, Maine’s newest favorite tradition!
Schedule of Events
Performances & Workshops
You can count on world-class musical performances from noon until 10pm as well as dance classes, a session, language workshops, singing circles, craft demonstrations, theatrical performances, children’s programming, food, beverage, music workshops and master classes, sport demonstration, and so much more.
Our pop-up festival moves to Woodfords Church in 2019 after a wonderful inaugural year at the Maine Irish Heritage Center. The new facility boasts ample parking, multiple separate spaces for performances and workshops, a wood dance floor, and proximity to a number of wonderful local businesses to support! We’re thrilled to partner with this organization to present this year’s festival events.

Sponsor the Little Sea Folk Festival
We are actively seeking volunteers at the organizational level. If you’d like to join the team that produces this festival, we would love to hear from you.
Please note that all booking is done by invitation and there is no open application process for 2019. Our hope is that the festival grows to allow us to open spots for emerging artists and bands less known to us. Please do continue to check back to see if we’ve gotten there yet!
